How to play
First choose which tables to practice: all of them, the easy ones (2, 3, 4, 5 and 10), or any combination from 1 to 12. Then choose a mode.
- Practice: 20 questions. If you get one wrong, you see the right answer and the question comes back later in the game.
- Challenge: 60 seconds. How many multiplications can you get right before the clock runs out?
- Multiplication chart: fill in the empty boxes of the chart. Tap a box and type the answer. You can choose how many boxes start empty.
In Practice and Challenge you can answer in two ways: type the number with the keypad, or choose the right answer from four. On a computer you can use the keyboard too.
Reviewing the multiplications you miss
The game remembers which multiplications you get wrong most often. When there are some, a “Most missed” line appears with a button that starts a short game made only of those facts. It is the quickest way to fix 7 × 8 once and for all.
Which mode for which age
| Mode | Good for | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Practice, choose from 4 | Ages 7 and up, second grade | The easiest way in: no typing, and mistakes come back for review. |
| Practice, type the answer | Ages 8 and up, third grade | Builds recall, because there are no choices to guess from. |
| Challenge | Ages 8 and up | Trains speed once the tables are fairly secure. |
| Multiplication chart | Ages 7 and up | Good for seeing the patterns. The 12 × 12 chart is best from age 9. |
Study first, then play

Frequently asked questions
Is the multiplication game free?
Yes. You can play for free without signing up. If you log in with a free account, your best scores stay saved across your devices.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. The game adapts to the screen, and there is a full-screen mode for small displays.
How does the best score work?
Each mode has its own rule. In Practice, what counts is the number of questions you get right on the first try and your time. In Challenge, it is the number of correct answers in 60 seconds. In the multiplication chart, it is the time it takes to complete it.
Can I practice just one multiplication table?
Yes. You can pick a single table, or combine as many as you like, from 1 to 12. Each combination keeps its own best score.
How many minutes a day should I play?
About ten minutes a day is plenty. Playing a little every day works better than one long session once in a while.
