How OneDayQuiz Quizzes Work

The OneDayQuiz guide to general knowledge quizzes

Getting started

On OneDayQuiz you’ll find lots of general knowledge quizzes, and you can compete with other players on the various leaderboards (Overall, Average, Time, etc.).

There are currently 9 quiz types , each with slightly different rules, all fairly intuitive.

So if you don’t want to waste any more time and just want to start playing, pick a quiz type and then choose one of the available quizzes. You’ll figure out the rest as you play.

But watch out! In some quiz types, you only get a high grade if you answer within a few seconds… so keep an eye on the clock!

If you’d like to know more about how the different game modes on OneDayQuiz work, read on.

Collection Quizzes

Collections are packs containing a varying number of quizzes from one or more of the types above.

Each pack is devoted to specific topics, so it can include one or more subjects.

There are two kinds of collections: Play-now collections, open to everyone with no sign-up, and Special Collections, free for anyone with an account (the first quiz can be played without one).

Completing a collection earns you a title and a score that gets you onto the Titles Leaderboard.

Bonus Quizzes

The Bonus is a mode with its own rules, played once a day: the Quiz of the Day, open to everyone.

Quiz of the Day

Every day at midnight (Italian time) a new quiz arrives, the same for everyone, picked from the quizzes of all the modes. You can play it once a day, even without an account. As a guest your grade counts 1x; with an account a correct answer counts double (2x). Play the Quiz of the Day.

Subjects, grades and… report cards!

Just like at school, on OneDayQuiz you deal with subjects, grades and even a report card. But don’t worry: no detention!

There are quizzes on lots of subjects (animals, movies, sports, food, music and more).

For every quiz, whatever its type and subject, you can get a grade from 2 to 10.

Your grade depends on whether your answer is correct and, in some quiz types, on how long you take.

Let’s look at it in more detail.

Correct answer

In every quiz type, a correct answer gets a top grade of 10 and a minimum of 4.

Wrong answer

In every quiz type, a wrong answer gets a grade of 2.

Skipped quiz

In every quiz type, a skipped quiz gets a grade of 3.

Quiz rules

  • Once you complete a quiz, it is locked and you can’t play it again.
  • Quizzes can only be replayed with the Rescuehint, which you can use on quizzes you got wrong or skipped.
  • Once a quiz has started, you can cancel it by clicking the CANCELbutton within a few seconds. If you cancel a quiz, you go back to the previous screen with nothing changed, and the canceled quiz stays available.
  • Once the CANCEL button disappears, you can no longer cancel the quiz. If the page is closed or reloaded while you’re playing, the quiz gets 0 points and you can replay it with the Rescue hint.
  • The time limit for answering a quiz is 35 seconds: any answer given after that counts as “Time’s up” and the quiz is marked as wrong.
  • Answer speed affects your grade in these quiz types: Classic, Picture, Two Pictures, Yes or No, Audio, Zoom.
  • Answer speed doesn’t affect your grade in these quiz types: Fill-in, Clues and Guess.
