How to play

All the cards start face down and shuffled, and every picture appears twice. On each turn you flip two cards:

  • if the pictures match, you’ve found a pair and the cards stay face up;
  • if they don’t, look closely: they flip back on their own.

The game ends when every pair has been found. It counts your moves (each time you flip two cards) and your time, and saves your best score for each deck and level.

Two-player memory

With 2 players you take turns on the same phone, tablet or computer, using the rules of the tabletop game:

  • if you find a pair, you keep it and go again;
  • if you miss, the turn passes to the other player;
  • whoever has found the most pairs at the end wins.

Matched cards take the color of the player who found them, so you can see at a glance who is ahead.

  • The OneDayQuiz Original: the icons of our quiz subjects, from art to video games. There are 31, so every game draws a different set.
  • Animals and Fruits: the best choice for young children, with simple pictures that are easy to name.
  • Halloween: pumpkins, ghosts, bats and black cats. Available from October 1 to November 10.
  • Christmas: available from November 25 to January 6.

Tips for finding pairs faster

  • Start with the corners and edges. It gives you a fixed reference point to remember.
  • Say the cards out loud. Naming each picture helps you remember where it was.
  • Go back to what you know. If you’ve seen one card of a pair, flip it first on your next turn.
  • Beat your own record. Try the same deck and level again: your best score is saved for each combination.

Memory for kids

Pick Animals or Fruits at the Easy level (12 cards): the pictures are large, simple and easy to name. For older children and adults, Hard and Expert make a real challenge. In two-player mode it works well as a game for the whole family.

Frequently asked questions

Is the memory game free?

Yes, completely free and with no sign-up. If you log in, your best scores are also saved to your account and follow you across devices.

Can I play with a friend?

Yes: choose 2 players and take turns on the same screen. You keep playing as long as you find pairs.

How are my records saved?

For each deck and level, the game with the fewest moves counts. If two games have the same number of moves, the faster one wins. Guests keep their records in the browser; logged-in players keep them on their account.

What is the minimum number of moves?

One per pair, so 6 on Easy and 18 on Expert, but you need some luck. For three stars you need to stay within about one and three-quarter moves per pair.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The game adapts to any screen and has a full-screen button, so you can play comfortably on a phone or tablet.
